SilvrettaArena Ischgl/Samnaun
With 40 lifts and cable cars and over 200km of superbly prepaid pistes; Ischl is known as a Mecca for skiers and snowboarders. The Arena joins Ischgl with the Swiss customs exclave of Samnaun.
The main skiing area (90%) lies between altitudes 2,000 m and 2,872; skiing pleasure is possible until the end of November until the beginning of May because of the snow safe northern slopes.
Ischgl offers snowboarders a permanent, general accessible halfpipe and a fun park, “Boarders Paradise” complete with four areas and 30 obstacles.
For carving freaks there is a specially designed carving run (Idjoch chairlift). The lynchpin of the Silvretta-Arena is the 2,311 m high situated Idalp. Here situated between two restaurants, is the Ski School meeting place as well as the Ski and guest kindergarten.
In spite of the flowing border traffic in the skiing area you should have your passport with you. When shopping in the tax free area of Samnaun, please make sure that you observe the custom regulations for Nationals and Foreign Nationals (Info folders are available at the Tourist Office).
The two powerful double-single stage lifts and the Silvretta lift (funitel system) start in the middle of the village up to the skiing area. The total carrying capacity of 78,465 people per hours enables quick transportation, without long waiting times.
Lots of new fresh snow fall in April offers the right “basis” for sun hungry spring skiers. So it is only natural, that the planned “crispy spring snow skiing fun” turns into amazing deep powder snow adventure.
